SCT Day 5 and 6: I don’t want to remember this day and home
I wake up to high-pitched shrieking sounds and am quite confused. An animal is running around in proximity to the hut. I guess this is what elk are supposed to sound like? I wrap my sleeping bag around my body and sit up while rocking back and forth due to the cold.

SCT Day 4: A beautiful sunset
We wake up to sunlight after indulging in a good amount of sleep. This insulated hut is simply amazing. I think it was a solid 13 degrees inside, which was a privilege compared to the single digit temperatures in the other huts.

SCT Day 3: An Unexpected Meal
The combination of snow, debris, and rain signficantly hinder our journey, but the amazing hut at the end of our hike makes up for it, as we make some unexpected friends and eat a warm meal.

SCT Day 2: The Rustle
Our second day of hiking is made much easier by the kindness of strangers and a delicious meal with craft beer on the side. At night, the rain begins in full force.

SCT Day 1: The Drop
After a harrowing ‘rock-drop’, we hike 33 km through ever-changing scenary to make it to Rieveley’s Pond
